Lewis Recreation Centre - Courtenay, BC

Fletcher Pettis developed the initial feasibility and definition report for an expansion and renovation of the Lewis Recreation Centre. The project received $5.4 million funding in November 2011 and commenced August 2012 to add 1,100 sq m of new Wellness Centre and activity rooms space and renovate interior spaces to provide craft rooms and energy efficiency upgrades. The project used Construction Management to attain value for funding and to enable cost efficiencies to be used in updating the existing spaces as much as possible.

Construction, in phases, completed the addition in June, 2013 with renovation of existing spaces in September, 2013.

The project was designed by Vic Davies Architects of Victoria with Knappett Projects providing construction management.
