Fletcher Pettis Consultants Ltd (FPCL) was formed in 2002 and is a Comox Valley based firm offering development planning and professional project management services to private and institutional clients. Fletcher Pettis works mainly on Vancouver Island from Nanaimo north, though has conducted consultant studies in Victoria and the mainland in association with a network of allied professionals.

The company’s main focus is on providing representation to owners in the overall management of capital construction projects. Such projects start in the concept stage and carry though the development planning stages of re-zoning and development permitting to selection and management of the design team. Once envisioned the company provides owners the experience and expertise to professionally manage the implementation of the project.

The company has a background in facility development and operational management that enables consideration of life cycle costing and long term operations and maintenance to be brought into the design process. The company draws on a network of professionals such as architects, planners, surveyors, appraisers, engineers and contractors to provide a full spectrum of services to our clients.

The firm Principal is Blair Pettis, P.Eng who is a professional engineer with more than 25 years of experience gained in the fields of facility management, planning and project management. Mr. Pettis has worked with Federal and local public service government bodies as well as private development companies. His experience and qualifications in engineering, the environment and business administration allow the company to bring a focused and analytical approach to the work.

Fletcher Pettis Consultants Ltd. uses a consultative approach to develop initial project concepts and goals. The requirements of scope, budget and schedule which drive the major sources of risk in any project are kept at the top of the agenda. Our construction experience and having had to manage and operate some of the facilities constructed brings a balanced perspective to the client’s table in dealing with both the design professionals and the contractors. Communication with the principal stakeholders is considered a crucial success factor to the work.

The company is a member of the Green Building Council and can bring forward the more cost effective and sustainable design features advocated in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).
